Being-In-The-Zone

Being in the zone is also known as flow. It refers to a state where an individual is completely involved in some activity that is both beneficial and relaxing to him. By practicing some activity, the individual is almost in the state of meditation. His whole attention is engaged by the activity that interests him a lot.

This leaves all the benefits of meditation and relieves the individual from the stress. It gives the twin benefit of mastering the art and gaining piece of mind. Many researches also vouch for the benefits provided by these activities.

Often the person can experience the flow when he is involved in creative pursuits such as drawing, writing, knitting, gardening etc These creative pursuits serve as outlets for all his emotional and mental problems. Sooner or later , he will master the art and become proficient in that , though he did not begin the pursuit with that in mind. The main idea behind this technique is expressing or airing out the emotional conflicts and disturbances through a proper channel.
