Holiday stress can be dealt with by exercisingMost of us are aware of the fact that one of the ways to successfully deal with stress is to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Learning to combat stress is a complicated thing and there are self-help groups, workshops and exercise videos and cds to keep us from getting too stressed. Stress symptoms vary from being grumpy to feeling beaten down and experiencing stress-symptoms such as anxiety, high blood pressure and the feeling that we cannot cope. One of the healthiest ways to cope with stress is exercise. As most of us suffer from stress simply because we already feel rushed and because there is simply too little time in a day, we wonder how we can fit in an exercise routine. The answer is; you probably can't you probably wouldn't have the time. One of the well-known benefits of being active is the reduced risk of illness. Exercising boosts our immune system and the weaker your immune system is the more prone you are to illness and viral infections. Exercise can be a great way to clear your mind and to escape from our daily routine. Exercise provides our bodies with hormones that make us feel better about ourselves. Exercise rests the mind frees us from the tension that builds up in our body and mind. Park your car a bit further away from the shops to walk a bit extra when you go shopping. Take the stairs instead of an elevator and run around the block with your dog a little longer than usual. You will notice that you will soon start to feel better and worries disappear when you focus on your exercise. This way you will not only feel more at easy but your body benefits from your new regime as well. |
